HMS GAFE Training
On May 15, 2015 we have nine teachers present to our faculty what they use and what they have learned when they went to the Google Summit by the Edtech Team. We had an amazing time there and learned so much very quickly, and it was time to put it into action! We have four 1/2 hour sessions to train our teachers Google Apps for Education. The classes are about Google Drive, Apps (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Drawing) and some fun and useful Chrome extensions and add-ons. Here is the link to the following workshop image.
The presenters have done a great job prepping for this event. The teachers are excited about the 1:1 program for next year and look forward to trying out the new apps in their current classes. Ashoke Ghosh our Technology Director is pursuing the SAMR model. He explains in meeting that some teachers may be at the beginning with just learning how to substitute technology but others are ready to start creating lessons using new technology. Teachers are always looking for new ways to teach to 21st Century skills.
Elearninginfographics posted this great infographic to explain more about SAMR. We plan to implement the ideas when going 1:1 next year at the middle school.
